From Farm Challenges to Breakthrough Solutions
AHC was founded in 2011 in the Netherlands, at a pivotal moment for European agriculture. The industry faced mounting pressure to reduce antibiotic use while maintaining animal health and productivity. Many farms were struggling — experiencing spikes in digestive issues and performance losses as they moved away from traditional approaches.
Our founders saw this challenge as an opportunity. Rather than developing products in a laboratory and hoping they would work on farms, they took the opposite approach: start on the farm, understand the real problems, and build solutions that deliver results in commercial conditions.
This farm-first philosophy led to a critical insight. Many natural compounds showed promise, but conventional delivery methods failed in practice. Oil-based ingredients wouldn't mix with water. Active compounds degraded during feed processing. Results were inconsistent and unpredictable.
The answer was clear: we needed to solve the delivery problem. This pursuit drove over a decade of dedicated research and ultimately led to our proprietary nano-encapsulation technology — a breakthrough that transforms how active compounds reach the animal.
